Open Day in Mumbai

Close on the heels of the open day in Pune, there was one more open day for the Little Angels school in Mumbai.
This time it was on a larger scale with more students and more parents.  The first photo that I clicked was of this young boy trying to convince the customer about the quality of the products that were on display and sale.

As usual, after the open day the parents had a visual treat to all the products that were displayed by Kalanidhi

The sale was brisk and it was good to see that things were getting sold at a fast pace.

While the parents and the students were busy, I just ambled around the school. These happy happy murals on the staircase must have greeted many students as they climbed up the stairs.

I liked these three drawings on one of the boards

What a great feeling it must have been for Ansh Obhan when he saw this little note on the notice board (and also a boosting factor for other students)

In this age of cell phone and texting, a good reminder of simple polite words which is seldom used now a days.

It was good to see the children’s face light up when they introduced the parents to the teachers

Kalanidhi had also organized a food stall with the food items reasonably priced.

I have heard the Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, many times, but never felt it more meaningful than when I saw it on this notice board:

While leaving the premises, I saw this flex board kept at the entrance.

Probably my next visit will be to the Kalanidhi Production Centre.

Every year, these kids and their teachers surpass expectations.....don't know how they do it. This year, I had the honour of meeting a student that had procured himself a job with The Taj group. It was pure bliss, watching the young adult with different needs, in his uniform, walk up to the Director- Mr. Jehangir, and greet him with a crisp handshake.

To the uninitiated, this may seem such a normal occurrence....but knowing how much self regulation and discipline it takes for a child with special needs to get there, I was awestruck!

Congrats....Jehangir....and your dedicated team....u guys are really making dreams come true. God Bless!!

News nowadays is so depressing, we see the ugly side of humanity so often, but your blog makes one appreciate the other nobler side, the care and the patience and love which we give to these disadvantaged, make one feel that there is hope yet. - Theresa Mathew.

Hi Joe - what a wonderful event - and how enterprising everyone is. Loved seeing around with you .. they make lots of produce and yes the pride shows through. The art works are clever ... I must remember the one where if I can't speak, doesn't mean I can't hear ... thanks so much for sharing with us .. cheers Hilary

Hi Haddock, I appreciate your frequency of blogging. You have been blogging in such a constant manner from the beginning, which I couldn't do. Admirable.

Thanks Tomz.
Started blogging seven years ago with an average post of three per month. It gives me enough time to do some reading about the subject before posting.

Thanks for sharing the open day at Little Angels. Always believed that the title ‘Children of a lesser God’ was valid. But when one looks at the way the good Lord leads them on, its truly remarkable. Not just that, they land up being huge reservoirs of inspiration to us.

Like Pune, this also sounds like a great day for the students, parents and the guardians. The posters are meaningful and no doubt the endeavour, as a whole, boosts up the confidence of the kids and their parents.

A great venture by Kalanidhi, will look forward to your post on their Production Center... :-)
