A novel way to protest

Today is World water day.
And that reminds me of some banners that I saw recently in a famous housing complex here in Pune.
The banner read “we drink well water in space age

Another one "After 15 years we don’t have conveyance, good water, car parking, playgrounds, tennis court, sport centre"

I think this is a novel way of protest.
I mean we have builders and builders and then there are good builders and not so good builders.
Some do up the whole place with beautiful huge gardens to attract customers and when the flats / bungalows are filled up they dig up the garden to build up a multistory building. And the hapless residents just look on as nothing can be done because they have already paid for it and moved in.
But wait a minute, nothing can be done ?
Look at these banners. I am sure that these are a good deterrent for future customers.

This was even published in a local news paper.

So are the residents protesting against those who built these complexes?

Absolutely, unless we raise our voice and ask for justice, no action will be taken.

We must make our voice be heard.
Good picture story...

So glad someone is walking the talk instead of just blaming someone for all the problems we face! Hope their voices r heard!

Those are some thought-provoking banners. You need to stand up and talk....if you just sit and wait for someone else to do it for you....you might as well forget it as it will never be done. It's better to at least raise your voice, however feeble, 'coz it's better than doing nothing but blame others!

I always learn something new from your posts. Good reminder about World Water Day. But I don't know who are these people protesting against. With the increase in population, more houses are required. Builders are making apartments because they sell and people buy them. Unless the entire world take a concious decision to control the population growth, the trend will continue and yards, grass and trees wil disappear. However business community (that includes governments) would not like to stop population growth because that will stop economic growth.

We can protest but no one has a solution...I personally think we need to control population growth.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I am glad to see your blog - I spent a month in India for work a few years ago, and it is my favorite country to visit. I hope the protestors find their justice.

Oh... scary! :)
I guess b'lore is also on its way to getting dried up.

In a radius of 1 km, we have more than 5000 houses! Oooo... really scared!

Cheers!

Very nice banners. We are facing something similar in our community in Bangalore. We have banners in each house against the builder and all around the layout. He defaulted on many promises, and this is the best way we can protest. I stayed in Pune for almost a year before coming to Bangalore, and it is a beautiful, quiet city. We lived in Aundh. It must be pretty well developed now.

Cool idea, indeed

Inspiring. Unless we raise our voice over core issues, they never would get addressed.Be it water or garbage disposal or bad roads. the residents should be more active in local governance and that is the only way to improve our cities and towns.
Very good banners.
